Beginning with the Pelly Place Ravine pilot project in West Seattle, this unique template can be replicated in other parts of Seattle, throughout the United States or even the world, as we strive to get youth actively involved in the growing number of environmental issues facing our world.

Students created four project work groups, which included:

• air, soil and water quality studies
• habitat research
• control of non point pollution
• invasive plant identification
• invasive removal, native plant / tree plantings
• photo and video documentation featuring a historical documentary on the Ravine
