We have been on this trip for a total of fifteen days including March 31. These past two weeks have been amazing and yet very stressful for me. As some of you may know I am the producer of this project and I have a lot of responsibilities that I have to take care of on a daily basis. I need to make sure all of the cities get called and the events get confirmed, make sure we get directions, book hotels and on top of that give presentations at all of the events we attend. Some people say oh that’s easy all you have to do is call people, get directions and talk, that’s not hard. But just to let all of you know it is hard and I am not going to lie it is extremely hard at times especially when you have all of the pressure on you and when you mess up everyone it effects everyone and we look bad. But even though it is really difficult for me at times I am not going to give up without a fight and I am just going to have faith in myself and say, “I can do it”. Throughout this whole trip I have met so many inspiring and phenomenal people that are really trying to make a difference in the world. I met people that recycle, use florescent lights in their homes, use solar panels, and wear recycled cotton clothing like me, and these people do this on their own and encourage many people to do the same. It is wonderful that people are trying to make a difference in this world. It really makes me very happy. SO THIS MORNING WE WOKE UP AT 4 o’clock IN THE MORNING! Last night before we went to bed we had a meeting again to discuss the same thing we usually talk about, SLACKING OFF. When we woke up we did the usual and headed towards Pahrump, NV and Death Valley, CA. The cyclists rode in hour shifts, on and off, and man are they hard core cyclists when they rode in Death Valley it was 112 degrees and they still rode 20 mph and all together they rode for approximately 6 ½ hours total. Thomsen rode for 3 hours in one stretch, which included riding over a huge pass. When we were in Death Valley we went to the Bad water Basin and took some pictures in front of the Bad water, then the riders got back on the rode and went ahead to Ridgecrest. Tonight I didn’t make reservations to a hotel so Thomsen said we were camping out in Ridgecrest, CA so we might just be camping out tonight. I am not looking forward to that because I need to do laundry and I need to organize my luggage because it got all unorganized. |
