4-05-08 On The Road Again Print
Technically I didn’t go to sleep until this morning, at 2:00 AM.  This is because we had a bunch of work that had to get done, and wasn’t.  So last night and this morning was spent making up that work.  We woke up about two hours after going to sleep, around 4:00 AM.  From there we started riding to Hot Springs, Arkansas from Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  For almost half the day we rode, and drove, and rode and drove.

About seven and a half hours later, something like 12:30 PM, we finally arrived.  So Tim, Tyrone, Paul, Jeff, and I were supposed to find a hotel to stay at for some of the chaperones.  This is because the kids and Jeff were staying ay Jeff’s Aunt’s house in Hot Springs.

When we went looking for hotels we noticed that all the hotels were either very expensive or all occupied.  When we asked what was happening the answer was always the same, “There is a race going on at the track this weekend, and these are the best you’re going to find.”  Since we only need two to three rooms we were a little less worried about price.  Eventually we got some rooms for just about $160.  So we went to the rooms and started finishing our work.

After about three straight hours of hard work, we were finally done.  So now all we need to do was wait for the rest of the group to catch up.  When they finally came, we got the clothes and stuff needed for that night and the next morning, and left for Aunt Katie’s house.

At first we passed her, but then she caught up and we followed her to the house.  When we arrived it was spectacular!  When we got inside the house it was even more amazing than the outside.  Next she gave us the rooms we would be staying in and told us to put our things in there.  From there we ate dinner which was great, too; lasagna and garlic bread with salad.  After this we watched a movie then got some shut eye.
